Plot to kill President Ramaphosa unearthed

SOUTHAFRICA

Plot to kill President Ramaphosa unearthed, Fake soldier wanted to kill him at his inauguration
An investigation at the highest level of government is now underway, after security officials suggested that there have been “one or two plots” to assassinate President Cyril Ramaphosa.
That’s according to report from Rapport, who say that South Africa’s top brass are now looking into potential security issues within the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
PLANS TO ASSASSINATE CYRIL RAMAPHOSA, PLUS SECURITY ISSUES REVEALED
It’s understood that a “ghost soldier” tried to infiltrate Ramaphosa’s inauguration last weekend. He pretended to be a member of SANDF and allegedly attempted to con his way into the event, which would have given the suspicious stranger top-level access to the president. During his arrest, he was found with live ammunition in his pocket.
However, it would seem that this incident is isolated from the assassination plots – but with this being such a big security scare, the investigation into ensuring the president’s safety has been dramatically ramped up.
JUST HOW SAFE IS CYRIL RAMAPHOSA?
The ANC is a deeply divided party at the moment, despite members’ claims to the contrary. The factions of Cyril Ramaphosa and Jacob Zuma are currently at odds with each other. Political killings are all too frequent in KwaZulu-Natal, JZ’s favoured stomping ground. But Ramaphosa himself has faced little in the way of security threats up until this point.
Last year, there were rumours circulating that Ace Magashule and Jacob Zuma were plotting to oust Ramaphosa from government. However, these accusations have been denied by the pair. The current president has faced more threats over his political future, rather than his life.
SANDF TOLD TO “GET IT TOGETHER”
Meanwhile, SANDF are again making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The South African army have been involved in a number of calamitous incidents recently, ranging from rogue soldiers shooting at civilians in Durban to having an alleged hand in a coup in Botswana.
The report also claims there will be a major operation to get SANDF’s house back in order. They will be expected to tighten up their security protocol and ensure that a proper ethos to “serve and protect” is followed by all members.

WWE News: Rey Mysterio opens up about why heels can't get heat and Chris Jericho being a visionary

WWE News: Rey Mysterio opens up about why heels can't get heat and Chris Jericho being a visionary

Rey Mysterio opens up about the respect he has for Chris Jericho

What's the story?

Rey Mysterio has a long history with Chris Jericho and he recently spoke to Jim Ross about the work that Jericho has been doing in other promotions and how hard a heel's job is nowadays.

In case you didn't know...

Rey Mysterio appeared at The Royal Rumble earlier this year and ever since WWE has been pushing to resign the former World Champion, but he has been reluctant to sign a long-term contract. Mysterio has been announced for All In later this year, which is being promoted as one of the biggest wrestling shows of the year, which means that it's highly unlikely that he will be returning to WWE any time soon.

Mysterio has come through a number of promotions throughout his career including WCW and WWE alongside Chris Jericho and confirmed himself that he has a lot of respect for Y2J.

The heart of the matter

Mysterio recently sat down with Jim Ross as part of an episode of The Ross Report where he was able to share his opinion on why heels find it hard to gain heat nowadays and his respect for Chris Jericho. (Transcript via WrestlingInc)

"I've actually, without picking his mind that much, I've learned a lot about how he likes to roll and do his own thing. I tip my hat off for him because he has worked his ass off. He has. He has been on the grind. He was the first guy ever to leave WCW, take that risk, go to WWF at the time, and look at him now. He has his rock band. He's a visionary. He sees something, if he wants to go for it, he goes for it. And he'll achieve it when he's finished."

Mysterio isn't a star who has ever worked as a heel in WWE's main programme, but he still weighed in on his opinion regarding the work of current heels in the business.

"It is [impossible for heels to get real heat nowadays] because of the fact that, for the fans, if you have a rich history on your way to becoming one of the top heels, all-of-a-sudden, heels are loved. Why? Because you worked hard to obtain your spot." Mysterio added, "it sounds weird, but you become a babyface in their eyes"

What's next?

Rey Mysterio has already been announced as one of the competitors for "All In" that is set to take place in September in Chicago, Illinois.

Is Rey Mysterio right about the way the wrestling world reacts to heels nowadays?

WWE News: The Undertaker to team up with Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman at MSG

WWE News: The Undertaker to team up with Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman at MSG

These two men will battle one another soon!

What's the story?

At WrestleMania last year, these men were bitter enemies. But now, The Undertaker will team up with Roman Reigns and the 'Monster Among Men' Braun Strowman for a dream match soon.

The three men will take on Kevin Owens, Elias and RAW Constable, Baron Corbin at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, July 7th.

In case you didn't know...

The Undertaker seemingly retired after his match with Roman Reigns last year. However, he did make a massive comeback a year later, defeating John Cena at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

He would go on to face Rusev in a casket match at the Greatest Royal Rumble. The Undertaker has been victorious in both matches since his valiant comeback. He has also physically looked to be in the best shape he's been in, in quite a while.

The heart of the matter

The pairing of Roman Reigns and The Undertaker is quite odd because one would assume that there is unresolved business between the two WWE superstars. Remember how The Undertaker took Brock Lesnar to task for months on end, because Lesnar defeated him at WrestleMania XXX, ending the streak?

Whatever the case may be, it is still a very strong unit and guaranteed to be a draw at MSG. The event is advertised as being The Undertaker's return to Madison Square Garden after eight long years. From the looks of it, it'll be a victory for the babyfaces.

What's next?

It is being speculated that The Undertaker has a massive program and opponent for SummerSlam. While that is not confirmed, we can confirm that he will be at the Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia. It is being dubbed as their last ever match.

5 Reasons WWE made a mistake by firing Big Cass, and 5 Reasons it was the right decision.

5 Reasons WWE made a mistake by firing Big Cass, and 5 Reasons it was the right decision.

Big Cass was let go by the WWE. Was it the right move for the company to make, or did Cass still have more to offer?

Things have evolved for WWE recently, but it is still a promotion that loves big men. Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, even the middle-aged Kane all enjoy protected status on the roster due mostly to their size and musculature.

However, just being big doesn't guarantee success in the WWE. Otherwise, Giant Gonzales, Silva, and Bastion Booger would have all been multi-time world champions instead of the footnotes in history they became.

Recently, WWE chose to release William Morrisey, better known as Big Cass. Was it a mistake to let him go, or was it the right decision on the company's part?

Here are five reasons it was a mistake, and five it was not.

Mistake: Big Cass could end up a star in a rival promotion.

Bobby Lashley enjoyed a massive push when he left WWE for TNA.

Big Cass may not have been a huge star in WWE, but he was still a name many recognized. Cass could end up in TNA/Impact or possibly even New Japan just on the strength of his name recognition alone.

Sometimes wrestlers can get a good push to the top just by switching to a rival promotion. It happened with Christian Cage and Bobby Lashley, and it could happen for Big Cass as well.

Not a Mistake: Big Cass was overrated.

Big Cass has thesize, but doesn't move as elegantly as men like Braun Strowman or Brock Lesnar.

Big Cass is certainly big. It's right in the name. But given the fact that "Big" is all that WWE could come up with to say about Morrisey speaks volumes.

While large and powerful, Cass fails to move with the agility and elegance of other big men such as Braun Strowman or Luke Harper. He often relies on his opponent, such as Daniel Bryan, to make his matches convincing. In short, he wasn't a big draw and wasn't likely to improve his in ring technique, so firing him cost the WWE nothing.

Mistake: Big Cass had room to grow.

While it's no secret that the WWE wasn't pleased with Big Cass's wrestling acumen, they were impressed with his continued improvement in the ring.

His match with Daniel Bryan redeemed him in the eyes of management, who ultimately let him go more because of professional reasons than his lack of ability to wrestle. Given more time and great opponents like Bryan to learn of off, Cass could have developed into a solid in ring performer. Instead, the WWE cut him loose when he might have been finally turning into a decent wrestler

Not a Mistake: Cass frequently went off script.

Unfortunately for Morrisey, being seven feet tall seems to have given him an ego that is also larger than life.

Cass has been accused by men like Simon Gotch/Grimm of being a wrestling know it all in spite of his limited ability. It seems that Cass's biggest fan was Cass himself, and he often changed some nuances of his matches on the fly because he wanted to.

He even caused minor injuries to a little person performer masquerading as Daniel Bryan. Cass was supposed to big boot the faux Bryan, but decided to attack him post-match as well. The performer wasn't prepared to take the bumps and was banged up a bit. This is just the most recent and visible example of Cass's going into business for himself--not a good trait for a pro wrestler to have.

Mistake: WWE invested 7 years in Big Cass.

The WWE invested a lot of time and energy into Big Cass to just let him walk away.

They discovered him, developed him, nurtured him, and groomed him to one day join the main roster and wreak havoc with his massive body. Now, it seems like he's been denied the chance right out of the gate, and they essentially wasted seven years on his development.

Not a Mistake: Big Cass failed to resonate with the fans on his own.

You wouldn't fire just one of the Three Stooges or the Three Musketeers; You'd fire all of them because they don't work separate from each other.

That's what WWE has done with Big Cass. The fact is Morrisey failed to resonate with the fans on his own. While he had them eating out of his hand while Enzo did the hard work of getting the team over, on his own he's just dull and witless. There was no point keeping Cass around without Enzo.

Mistake: Big Cass has potential as a movie star.

For many years, Vince McMahon has wanted to diversify his wrestling portfolio. This has included efforts such as the World Bodybuilding League and the XFL. While both of those were failures, at least in their first iteration- as McMahon apparently plans to relaunch the XFL- one thing that has not been a failure has been the WWE movies.

While they don't win Oscars or set box office records, films such as the Marine raise the profile of the WWE and provide millions of dollars in revenue. Big Cass has the good looks and presence to be an asset in WWE films, perhaps not as the star but as the muscled henchman, for example.

Not a Mistake: Big Cass is injury prone.

The problem with being seven feet tall is the enormous strain all that mass puts on the body, particularly the joints.

It's the reason Kevin Nash has had over seventeen surgeries on his knees, the reason Big Show isn't as spry as he once was and ultimately will be the downfall of Big Cass.

He just recently came back from a knee injury, only to have problems with it during the WWE's recent overseas tours. The WWE has been reluctant to invest in athletes who seem injury prone, so their decision to let Big Cass go isn't much of a surprise or a bad decision.

Mistake: An Enzo/Cass reunion will be money for the indies.

Promotions such as Ring of Honor will never be interested in the services of Big Cass and/or Enzo Amore, but others such as Impact or the independent scene will jump at the chance to host an Enzo/Cass reunion.

While they wouldn't legally be allowed to call themselves Enzo and Cass, we're certain alternatives can be developed, just as Bubba Ray became Bully Ray after leaving WWE. Like as not, Enzo and Cass had a decent sized fanbase, and the chance to profit off that fanbase may be too much temptation to avoid for smaller promotions.

Not a mistake: Big Cass had many personal problems.

WWE has had many issues with Big Cass since his return from injury. He got into a shouting match with producers after he spat on fans in Texas to get heel heat. Cass was publicly intoxicated multiple times during the WWE European tour, and broke down a bathroom door on a tour bus because he thought he was the victim of a prank (he was not; the door was simply stuck.)

Big Cass also has the habit of arguing with the creative team in WWE. John Cena and Randy Orton can get away with that, as can Brock Lesnar. Big Cass just isn't enough of a draw to put up with anymore. The WWE removed a toxic element from their locker room, and it was the right decision.

Do you think WWE made a mistake by releasing Big Cass, or was the decision right on the money? Please comment and let us know what you think.

World In Shock After It Discovers The Meaning Of 2 Lines On Ronaldo’s Head

World In Shock After It Discovers The Meaning Of 2 Lines On Ronaldo’s Head

Cristiano Ronaldo is sporting two lines in his hair in support of a cancer-stricken child.
Portugal superstar Ronaldo got the marks cut behind his right ear after visiting a young child who he had paid to have successful surgery.
And according to Spanish media, sources close to the Real Madrid ace say that Ronaldo was deeply moved by the experience and had the two marks positioned in acknowledgement of the two scars left by the operation. Ronaldo has been involved in an impressive amount of charity work and has a history of footing medical bills for terminally-ill children.
He recently donated the £456,000 of prize money he received for Real Madrid winning the Champions League to a non-government children’s charity. And Ronaldo was named the ‘most charitable athlete’ in the world by Dosomething.org after donating an astonishing £5million after the Nepal earthquake to the Save The Children fund.
He has also donated £53,000 to pay for a ten-month-old baby’s operation and shelled out another £105,000 to pay for a research centre at the hospital where his mother was being treated for cancer.
Back in 2013, he said: “My father always taught me that when you help other people, then God will give you double.
“And that’s what has really happened to me.
“When I have helped other people who are in need, God has helped me more.”
He was branded a “sore loser” by Iceland defender Kari Arnason for failing to shake hands with Aron Gunnarsson.

Member of Parliament for Chikhwawa Central Constituency, Zaheer Gaffar has come under fire

Member of Parliament for Chikhwawa Central Constituency, Zaheer Gaffar has come under fire from an influential chief in his area Traditional Authority Katunga who is accusing him of misappropriating funds meant for the purchase of construction materials of his office.
In an interview at his Namalindi headquarters in Chikwawa, Traditional Authority Katunga also accused Gaffar for not undertaking on some crucial infrastructural projects in his area although funds for the projects were already provided for under the Constituency Development Fund(CDF).
According to Katunga, one year since funds were approved at the district council for the purchase of construction materials of his office, the office is yet to be constructed.
The T/A said efforts to meet the MP to account for the funds have proved futile as he has been elusive. Traditional Authority Katunga has vowed not to relent until justice on the matter is done.
“I have indeed summoned the MP after noticing that some projects we agreed with him were not being implemented. I have information that the MP has been getting money for various projects in my area but there are no new projects in my area.
“I have information that he reported at the council that my office is already completed when nothing is being done about it. Last time I called him he said he will come to handover the construction materials of my office but he never came. That’s what he has been saying. I shall not relent until my office is built,” said Katunga.
Programmes officer for Center for Fighting for Freedoms Organization John Josiki, a local NGO operating in T/A Katunga’s area collaborated T/A Katunga’s remarks saying he delivered a letter on behalf of the MP for him to meet the chief and his subjects but the MP has been non committal.
Gaffar confirmed getting a letter requesting him to appear before the chief but he said he failed to go as he was required to travel to Lilongwe for Parliament meeting.
He said he requested for the meeting to be rescheduled until Parliament rises.
The MP dismissed accusations against him that he misused money for the purchase of construction materials of T/A Katunga’s Office, saying the supplier called Saeed Investment delayed in supplying the construction materials.
He said at the moment the supplier has managed to supply some bags of cement which he plans to handover when Parliament rises.
“I have four Traditional Authorities in my constituency, the T/A should realize that it’s not like when he mentions a project then it shall immediately be done,” said Gaffar”.
According to Traditional Authority Katunga a number of infrastructural development projects the incumbent Member of Parliament pledged before he was voted into office have not been fulfilled.
He mentioned Mawira CDSS, Chinangwa under Five Clinic and construction of a standard 8 class room block at Chilongoma Primary School as some projects the MP is yet to fulfill.
There is no Under Five Clinic in Traditional Authority Katunga’s area forcing expectant women to cover a long distance to Chikhwawa District Hospital to seek medical care.
MP Zaheer Gaffar Issa replaced Bernadetta Mlaka Maliro as an MP for Chikwawa Central Constituency in the 2014 tripartite elections as an independent candidate.

STORY OF THE DAY!*!*

!*!*!STORY OF THE DAY!*!*!
(read to the end)
A man was caught and thrown into a pit of about "40 feet" deep, just because he was a stranger. He struggled trying to get out of the pit,
but the more he tried, the weaker his muscles became.
He said to himself, "I don't know how to get myself out of this. Maybe I should just die instead of enduring these
miserable struggles and pains."
Just then,
he heard a voice
screaming, "Help! Help!! Help!!!" The shouts were coming from another pit, which was "10 feet" deeper than the one he was in. He thought to himself, "Wow, so there is somebody else like me trapped here too."
Listening carefully, he heard some cracking and sand dropping from the wall of the pit of the other victim.
Immediately he summed up his courage and with his last bit of strength, started crawling little by little until he made it out of his pit.
Moral of the Story:
That pain you think you are passing through, there are people worst off than you. Always say something sweet to yourself. Always smile at
your pains. Let them be; they are just there for a while and also to challenge you. Today may be your darkest hour, but your joy will come in the morning. Try to encourage yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror, beat your
chest and say, "I can make it and I can stand the test of time."
*Always try to face your worst fear because nothing GOOD comes easy. You must be UNCOMFORTABLE to get to your COMFORT ZONE.
LETS PRAY
Dear Lord I ask you to give the person reading this faith and strength to face whatever difficulty/challenge he/she is going through.AMEN.

The Story of an EAGLE

The Story of an EAGLE
The Eagle has the longest life-span of its species. It can live upto 70 years.
But to reach this age, the eagle must make a very difficult decision!
In its 40th year, the eagle's long and flexible Talons can no longer grab a prey which serves as food.
Its long and sharp beak becomes bent.

Its old-aged and heavy wings, due to their thick feathers, stick to its chest and make it difficult to fly.
Then, the eagle is left with only two options: DIE or go through a painful process of CHANGE! This process lasts for 150 days (5 months)
the process requires the eagle to fly to a mountain top and sit on its nest. There the eagle knocks its beak against a rock until it plucks it out.

Then the eagle will wait for the new beak to grow back after which it will pluck out its talons. When its talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking its old aged feathers.
And after this the eagle takes its famous flight of rebirth and LIVES for 30 more years!!
Why is Change needed??? In order to survive and live. We too have to start the change process.
We sometimes need to get rid of the unpleasant old memories, negative habits and our fixed mind set. Only Freed from the past burdens can we take advantage of the present.
If an eagle can make a life saving and life changing decision at the age of 40....why can't we?
In order to take on a New Journey ahead, let go of your negative old limiting beliefs. Open up your mind and let yourself fly high like an eagle!
When it rains, all birds occupy shelter.
But the EAGLE avoids the rain by flying above the clouds....problem is common to all but the attitude to solve it makes the difference!

Don't be afraid of change...accept it gracefully!

Shocking child prostitution scandal hits Argentine club Independiente

ARGENTINA

Shocking child prostitution scandal hits Argentine club Independiente

Argentine club Independiente have become embroiled in a high-profile child prostitution scandal after it emerged that a player was recruiting youth footballers to have sex with men for money.
The identity of the player has not been revealed, but it is known that the accused is 19 years old and was living in team-owned accommodation while he recovered from an injury.
Independiente became aware of the situation when one of the abused children broke down in front of an employee and revealed a string of alleged abuses over the last four months.
The accused is said to have led at least five boys, also living in the accommodation and aged between 15 and 16, into a prostitution ring with men in the Palermo area of Buenos Aires.
The investigation into the case is being led by Maria Soledad Garibaldi. It has been categorised as “child abuse and facilitation of abuse” and there is also believed to be a referee of the youth ranks named in the scandal.
The accused player has already been released by the club, who released a statement on the matter on Thursday.
“As a consequence of the facts that are public knowledge, Club Atletico Independiente wishes to communicate that it has made the corresponding report and has put everything at the justice system's disposal so that it can act accordingly,” the statement began.
“Of course, we regret this kind of behaviour that implicates the club in such delicate matters and we will do everything we can to solve it.”
Independiente is considered one of the biggest clubs in Argentina and has produced notable players such as Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.

Mamelodi Sundowns were expected to dominate possession and territory against their lower division opponents, and that was the way it turned out.

Mamelodi Sundowns defeated EC Bees 2-1 in a Nedbank Cup last-16 clash played at Loftus Versfeld on Tuesday night.
With the win, the Pretoria team won through to the quarter-finals of the competition, but they never had it all their own way as they were made to sweat for victory by the plucky Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League side.
Sundowns were expected to dominate possession and territory against their lower division opponents, and that was the way it turned out. They were in their stride early on, with Jeremie Brockie going close with a header.
But, Sundowns soon discovered the difficulty of playing against teams who sit back and soak up the pressure – they are always very dangerous on the counter. And it was on one such break that Bees took a surprise lead with a goal by Joseph Chikila.
Stunned, Sundowns had no choice but to inject greater urgency into their game. They created numerous scoring opportunities, with Thokozani Sekotloung, Brockie and George Lebese all failing to make the most of their chances.
The Pretoria club was then forced into an early change when Anele Ngcongca picked up an injury and was replaced by Thapelo Morena in the 32nd minute.
It's all over from Loftus Versfeld Stadium, the Brazilians come from behind to march into the next round of the Nedbank Cup.
Bees, though, hung in with great determination and showed fantastic resolve in defence in the face of relentless pressure. Just before the break, Sundowns had two more inviting opportunities for Anthony Laffor and Lebese, but, on both occasions, they were denied by fine saves from Bees goalkeeper Khanya Mini.
But it was only a matter of time before Sundowns’ dominance paid dividends. Seconds into the second half it was 1-1 when Hlompho Kekana unleashed a trademark long-range effort that cannoned into the net.
With parity restored, Sundowns went all out in search of a winner – Kekana tried his luck from range again, Laffor skewed a shot wide and Brockie was denied by a good tackle in the penalty area.
The goal had to come, however, and Sundowns duly netted the winner in the 75th minute when Brockie produced a superb pass for Morena to steer the ball into the net.

Naledi Pandor says Stephen Hawking's passing is a great loss to humanity. Hawking’s passing is a great loss to science community

Higher Education Minister Naledi Pandor has paid tribute to British theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking who died early on Wednesday morning at the age of 76.
Hawking became one of the world’s most famous scientists after the publication of his book “A brief history of time” in the 1980s, which sold more than 10 million copies.
He was diagnosed with motor neurone disease in 1963.
Pandor says Hawking’s passing is a great loss to the science community.
She says, “It’s a very sad day and a great loss to humanity and particularly to the science community. I think for me what he represented was an example of the ingenuity of human beings and also he managed to tell us to get rid of the many prejudices that we have about persons who have disabilities.”
“He proved beyond doubt that talent exists everywhere,” adds Pandor.
Pandor was recently placed at the helm of the department at a crucial time where she has to oversee the implementation of fee free higher education for poor and deserving students as announced by the former President Jacob Zuma in December 2017.
The department has been allocated a total of R324 billion over the next three years including R57 billion to cover fee-free higher education.

Aminu Umar ends goalless run as Osmanlispor edge Bursaspor

The 23-year-old attacker gave the Ottomans a major boost in their battle against relegation with a crucial victory on Saturday
Aminu Umar ended his seven-game goalless run in the Turkish Super Lig as Osmanlispor defeated Bursaspor 2-1.
Four days after celebrating his 23rd birthday, the Nigerian forward found his scoring boots since he registered a brace against Akhisarspor on Christmas Day.
Umar inspired Irfan Buz’s side to their first win since the resumption of the Turkish top-flight on January 27.

The 2016 Rio Olympics bronze medalist opened the scoring at the Osmanli Stadium in the 17th minute with his fifth league goal of the season. Morocco’s Adrien Regattin doubled the lead with his 43rd-minute effort.
Three minutes after the restart, DR Congo’s Jires Kembo-Ekoko pulled one back for the visitors but it was not enough to help them from avoiding defeat.
Nigeria internationals Mikel Agu and Shehu Abdullahi played for the entire duration while William Troost-Ekong was an unused substitute as Bursaspor suffered their 11th loss of the season.
Despite the win, Osmanlispor still sit in the relegation zone with 24 points from 25 games – a point adrift of safety.

MANCHESTER UNITED Lukaku was confident he could dominate Lovren, says Mourinhonet

MANCHESTER UNITED

Lukaku was confident he could dominate Lovren, says Mourinhonet

The Belgium international gave Liverpool's defence a torrid time at Old Trafford, earning the praise of his manager despite failing to find the net

Jose Mourinho admitted he was delighted to see Romelu Lukaku give Dejan Lovren a nightmare 90 minutes in Manchester United's victory over Liverpool.
Lovren and fellow Reds defender Trent Alexander-Arnold endured an afternoon to forget as they were continually outmuscled by the Belgian in a 2-1 reverse.
And while Lukaku did not find the net Mourinho was pleased to see him making an impact, while insisting that he did not go out to target Lovren.

"We gave options to the players. I am not the kind of mechanic coach that says A pass to B, B to C, C to D. We have different options," the manager explained to reporters.
"We have also the possibility of the long ball to [Scott] McTominay and to play against [Andrew] Robertson in the air. Lukaku was confident from experience that he could be dominant towards Lovren."
Marcus Rashford was also on form for United, ending a 10-game run without scoring with a double.
They were United's only two shots on target in the entire match and Mourinho believes Rashford's brace – which came in front of England manager Gareth Southgate – will be a huge boost to his self-belief.
"He scored two goals in a big match against a top-class opponent," Mourinho told a post-match news conference after United moved five points clear of Liverpool.
"The good thing was he scored from the first chance he had, because the last few months that was not happening with him and he was feeling that a little bit in terms of his confidence.
"But today a big game, probably unexpectedly, we trusted him, we felt the game could be adapted to his quality. He is improving a lot in training and sometimes that's the point.
"You are not in the training ground, you don't see what's going on, the self-confidence, the moods, and the feeling with him was that he was improving in the last few weeks."

Rashford was replaced by Marouane Fellaini in the 70th minute as Mourinho added an extra body to the midfield, prompting boos from a large number of supporters.
The manager was not worried about that response, but was unhappy with the jeers for Scott McTominay after he passed the ball backwards during a second-half counter-attack.
Mourinho said: "The fans can do what they want. I am not upset at all with that reaction, I am upset with a reaction they had to Scott McTominay. A kid of 20 years old was making all the right decisions and they want him to make the wrong decisions.
"So, when the kid decides to break the intensity of the game, not to lose, keep possession, play a back pass and give a solution to keep the ball in the opponent's half. It was a wonderful solution that many, many top players with experience don't do it.
"The kid did it and the fans reacted against the kid, that for me was the bad one."

Nevertheless, the United boss was overjoyed with the final result, though he admitted the display could have been better.
"Perfect result yes," Mourinho said. "Three points is very important. I wouldn't go so far as saying it was a perfect performance.
"In the first half the game gave us the opportunity to be direct, fast and score goals, more than we did. A third goal from [Juan] Mata would've been fantastic."

LILLE A 1-1 draw on Saturday was overshadowed by a violent pitch invasion, in which the home players were targeted on their way back to the dressing rooms

LILLE
A 1-1 draw on Saturday was overshadowed by a violent pitch invasion, in which the home players were targeted on their way back to the dressing rooms
Lille's Ligue 1 clash against Montpellier ended in chaos when home fans invaded the pitch and accosted players on Saturday.
The hosts were held 1-1 in a tight encounter, with Nicolas Pepe's first-half goal for Lille cancelled out after the break by Montpellier.
But the real drama began after the final whistle, when Lille fans streamed down from the stands to attack their own players.
Pepe in particular found himself the target of aggression, while the rest of the team were barracked on their way back to the dressing rooms.
All of this happened under the watchful eyes of Lille owner Gerard Lopez and sporting director Marc Ingla, who were present in the stadium as it unfolded.
Lille currently lie 19th in Ligue 1, one point shy of safety after 29 games of the season.
It was the second match in a top European league which suffered through fan violence, as West Ham supporters caused numerous delays in a 4-1 loss to Burnley, including one pitch invader who clashed with Hammers midfielder Mark Noble.

Malaga 0 Barcelona 2: Suarez and Coutinho cheer absent father Messi

Report

Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho scored to seal a 2-0 victory over Malaga in LaLiga before the hosts had Samu sent off.
Barcelona made light of Lionel Messi's absence and continued their march towards LaLiga glory with a 2-0 victory over 10-man Malaga.
Typically, Messi was Barca's match-winning hero when Ernesto Valverde's side beat nearest rivals Atletico Madrid 1-0 last weekend, but sat this one out after his wife gave birth to the couple's third child
Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho scored excellent goals with Messi missing inside the opening half hour and Barca's lead at the summit – with Atleti to host Celta Vigo on Sunday – is now 11 points.
At 2-0 loss at La Rosaleda last April landed a damaging blow against Barcelona's title defence last season, but this Malaga find themselves rooted hopelessly to the bottom of LaLiga.
Any prospect of an unlikely comeback for the hosts became even more remote when right winger Samu was deservedly sent for an atrocious 30th-minute lunge on Jordi Alba.

Youssef En-Nesyri and Maxime Lestienne missed chances as Malaga fought gamely, but, sitting as they do 11 point from safety, their relegation appears a similar formality to Barcelona wrapping up the title.
Suarez was frustrated by a brilliant save from Roberto in the 13th minute, a strong hand keeping a shot out of the bottom-left corner after Paulinho found the Uruguay international with a clever cushioned pass.
The Malaga goalkeeper had no chance two minutes later when Suarez darted between his two centre-backs to head home Jordi Alba's superb raking cross from the left.
Paulinho was at the heart of many of Barca's best moments early on and fired into the side-netting before another Brazilian wonderfully illuminated the contest.
Ousmane Dembele clipped a pass into Coutinho's feet and the man who replaced the France winger as Barca's record signing showed ingenuity to direct a perfect backheeled finish past Roberto.
Samu then allowed his frustrations to boil over in ugly fashion as he launched himself at Alba, who was fortunate to escape with nothing more than a limp and a torn right sock.

That left Malaga with a dauntingly uphill task and they could scarcely afford En-Nesyri wasting a glorious 36th-minute chance.
The shot-shy forward has two goals to his name all season and headed off target from inside the six-yard box after Manuel Iturra dug out a cross.
Coutinho forced another sharp stop from Roberto before the break and the Malaga number one continued to be busy in the second half.
Samuel Umtiti should have made him work harder when Dembele cleverly delayed a chipped cross to the far post in the 55th minute.
Dembele, frustrated by injury for much of his debut season in Spain, was starting to enjoy himself and saw Roberto hold impressively after Sergi Roberto neatly laid Ivan Rakitic's searching pass into his path.
Coutinho was in a determined but fruitless pursuit for one of his long-range specials to find the net, while Lestienne hooked across goal at the other end.
The game was ambling towards its conclusion by that stage, although Suarez ensured he will sit out next weekend's match against Athletic Bilbao by earning a booking for a clumsy 84th-minute shove on Ignasi Miquel.

Lucius Banda has said that the launch of his 19th album titled Crimes at Lilongwe Golf Club on Sunday was affected by rain.

MALAWI

Lucius Banda has said that the launch of his 19th album titled Crimes at Lilongwe Golf Club on Sunday was affected by rain.
He said the rain came late on when the launch was about to hit the climax and that more people, who were outside, had to leave.
“More people came but they were yet to get inside and with the rain some decided to leave. But all in all those, who came enjoyed the launch. I am happy to have launched the album,” Lucius said.
The launch had an appetising line-up which included Chileka reggae group, Black Missionaries.
“It’s a trend in Lilongwe where people come for shows around 6pm and rain started that time and although it stopped later, some were forced to stay indoors,” the musician said.
He said after Lilongwe, he would be launching
Crimes in Blantyre and Mzuzu as well as other areas.
“We are not rushing into doing this, we have to prepare well and also look at the dates because we also have other musicians launching their work,” the ‘Mabala’ star said.
The 12-track album, which was first launched in South Africa in December last year and speaks highly of the sufferings of Malawians, has songs such as ‘Chida Cha Mtendere’, ‘Chako,’ ‘Zithumwa’, and ‘Touch Me’.
Lucius has since said that he is also working on a DVD for the album which he would launch very soon.
The musician has also put Crimes, which has received an overwhelming response, online on platforms such as ITunes, Tidal, Spotify and Amazon Music to reach out to everyone.

(Sulom) has disclosed that the 2018 season would kick off on April 15, just a week after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) slated for April 7 in Mangochi District.

(Sulom) has disclosed that the 2018 season would kick off on April 15, just a week after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) slated for April 7 in Mangochi District.
The dates follow an Executive Committee meeting which the league governing body held in Lilongwe over the weekend to do a postmortem of the 2017 season.
Sulom Treasurer, Tiya Somba- Banda, on Monday confirmed the development.
“Between now and April, there would be a number of activities such as ground inspection and meeting some stakeholders, including referees,” Somba-Banda said.
During the meeting, Sulom also discussed the possibility of providing a starter-pack to league champions, who wish to participate in Caf Champions League.
The fund has been proposed following the struggles of Be Forward Wanderers when they ventured into the 2018 Caf Champions League campaign after being drawn against AS Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Nyasa Big Bullets also struggled financially when they participated in the 2015 Champions League.
Silver Strikers General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, said it was good news that, finally, the date for the AGM had been set.
“There are several issues which need to be tackled before the start of the season. For instance, we need to address gate revenue challenges as well as broadcasting rights’ issue,” Nyirenda said.
Nyirenda said clubs also expect the AGM to fill vacant positions at Sulom.
The position of vice-chairperson is vacant after Daud Suleiman resigned to join Football Association of Malawi as an Executive Committee member.
Nyasa Big Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Fleetwood Haiya, said although Sulom was yet to communicate to them on the dates of league’s kick-off and the AGM, he welcomed the proposed schedule.
In 2017, Sulom failed to hold the AGM due to what they called ‘lack of funds’. Sulom last held such a meeting in 2016.

A clip circulating on social media showing passengers using umbrellas to shield from a downpour after disembarking from an aircraft at Chileka International Airport has generated a lot of interest with others faulting government over its plans to build a multi-billion kwacha dual carriage way to Chileka Airport at a time when the airport lacks other key infrastructure.

MALAWI

BLANTYRE-The 11-kilometre Blantyre- Chileka Dual Carriage Way, estimated at K11 billion, is one of the development projects government unveiled recently. It is expected to become operational in the next two years.
A seasoned tourism expert, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said lack of a transport system to ferry passengers during the rainy season to the arrivals terminal only helps to entrench the picture of poverty to the outside world.
He said in the long-term, this defeats efforts aimed at boosting tourist flows into the country.
First Officer on Bombadier Dash 8-Q400, Lusekelo Mwenifumbo, said it may be justifiable that the airport does not have a bus due to resource constraints.
She, however, said while it may be considered a luxury at this point to procure a bus for Chileka Airport because of the distance between the landing bay and terminal, there is need to make special arrangements in such circumstances to ensure that there is service quality. Mwenifumbo observed that there is a lot more than needs to be done to ensure that local airports are at par with other countries in the region and the globe.
In a separate interview, Chief Flight Operations Officer in the Department of Civial Aviation, Hastings Jailosi, said there is no need to have passenger transportation based on the way the ramp and terminal are set at Chileka Airport.
He said, when the designers of the airport came up with the plan, transportation of passengers was not considered due to the distance.
Jailosi said: “In case of rain, the ground handling needs to provide umbrellas as they did. This is very common in many parts of the world having an airport similar to Chileka.”
He further said the option of procuring an air bridge would need to be justified based on passenger figures.
“These are very expensive and they may require a complete change in the design. Apart from that, personnel to operate and maintain need to be trained,” Jailosi said.
The Economics Association of Malawi has since said government should consider running the projects [transport and road network] concurrently.
When contacted, Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Henry Mussa, said government plans to run the project geared at modernising Chileka Airport concurrently with construction of the dual carriage way.
While he could not indicate the time frame in which this would be done, Mussa said government is on course to make this dream a reality and that progress is being made to identify key stakeholders such as the contractor, funding agent and procurement agent, among others.
“At this point, it is a matter of identifying who does what. The good thing is that in principle, government resolved to come up with these two very important infrastructures; the international airport and the dual carriage way,” he said.

Ethiopia needs $80m to provide food assistance for refugees

ADDIS ABABA – The World Food Programme (WFP) and the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) on Wednesday appealed for 80 million dollars to provide food assistance for refugees in Ethiopia.
The two UN agencies stated this in a joint statement issued in Addis Ababa.
The agencies said the amount of food that refugees received was cut by 20 per cent in 2017 below the 2,100 kilocalories per day required to sustain an average person.
“UNHCR and WFP warn of deeper cuts to the amount of food from April unless new funding is received in March,’’ the joint statement noted.
It added that “without new contributions, 650,000 refugees in camps in Ethiopia could soon become even more hungry and may eventually face hunger so severe that it could put their lives at risk.”
Ethiopia hosts the second largest number of refugees in Africa, next to Uganda.
Ethiopia presently hosts more than 900,000 refugees, mainly from Eritrea, South Sudan, Somalia, and Sudan, according to figures from the Ethiopian government.
According to the joint statement, some 650,000 of the
total refugees live in camps across the East African country and depend on assistance from WFP and UNHCR.
“After fleeing conflict and deprivation in their home countries, refugees deserve to be protected and supported,” said Samir Wanmali, WFP’s Acting Country Director in Ethiopia.
The two UN agencies fear refugee families could adopt harmful survival strategies and might even try to leave Ethiopia.
Particularly at risk are young children, with risks of becoming stunted if they do not receive the right amount of nutrient.
Malnutrition rates in the camps are already high and further ration cuts could have a devastating effect, said the statement.
Recent assessments show that malnutrition rates among children under five are above the emergency threshold of 15 per cent in nearly half of the 26 refugee camps in Ethiopia.
Conflict and drought in neighbouring countries continues to force people to seek refuge in Ethiopia, which has a long tradition of hosting refugees.
In 2017, nearly 110,000 refugees arrived in Ethiopia.

Sundowns claim a point in Kigali

KIGALI

KIGALI – Mamelodi Sundowns, 2016 African champions, kicked off their 2018 CAF Champions League campaign with a 0-0 draw against Rayon Sports at the Amahoro Stadium on Wednesday night.
Although Sundowns had their chances and were on top for most of the first hour, the home team ended the game strongly, the result was just about a fair result ahead of the second leg of this first round tie in Pretoria on Sunday March 18.
Warm ups nearly done, 10min to kick off! What are your score predictions Masandawana?

Sundowns generally bossed first half proceedings in the Rwanda capital and after a purposeful start by the South Africans, they were close to scoring in the sixth minute when Teboho Langerman thumped a volley into the side-netting.
Masandawana continued to impress with their neat interplay, although there was a shot from Percy Tau from range which missed the target and a half chance for Hlompho Kekana inside the box, they were unable to prise open the home defence with much success.
Kekana also had a penalty appeal turned down a few minutes before half-time, although by that stage Sundowns keeper Denis Onyango had been called into action a few times as Rayon began to pose more of a threat up front.
The Brazilians had the first opportunities after half-time as Sibusiso Vilakazi tested home keeper Eric Ndayishimiye, before Gaston Sirino went close with a free kick.
Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a goalless draw by Rayon Sports in the 1st leg of their #CAFCL 1st round
Rayon Sports, however, were finding their rhythm and also had chances as Onyango kept out Eric Rutanga's shot on the hour mark, before Christ Mbondi was denied by the woodwork 10 minutes later.
Both teams pushed hard for a winner with a goal looking likely at either end, but it wasn't to be as the match ended 0-0, Sundowns having failed to get an away goal, but still with a good chance to close out the tie in South Africa in 11 days' time.

Flying cars eye takeoff at Geneva Motor Show

GENEVA
GENEVA - After gracing our screens for decades, flying cars are about to shift gears from dream to reality, with the unveiling of a commercial model in Geneva this week.
From James Bond to The Jetsons, flying cars have long captured our imaginations, but now a Dutch company says they are almost ready to take to the streets and the skies.
Pal-V unveiled its Liberty Flying Car -- a sleek, red, three-wheeled gyrocopter-type vehicle -- at the Geneva Motor Show and vowed that client deliveries could start next year.
This kind of transportation, which allows drivers to both zip through traffic on the ground or simply fly above it, has never ceased to inspire engineers.
As a sign that this technology is being toyed with not only in the start-up realm, an alliance between Airbus, Audi and Italdesign also presented a concept flying vehicle, "Pop.Up Next", at the Geneva show.
That modular system, made up of an electric car with a huge quadcopter fastened to the roof, is expected to be commercialised from 2025, the companies said.
Inspired by 'frustration'
For Pal-V (Personal Air and Land Vehicle), it was "frustration" that sparked the idea for Liberty.
In a plane, "you start at a point where you don't want to start and you end up in a place where you don't want to be", company chief Robert Dingemanse told AFP.
"The Pal-V is the perfect product for city-to-city mobility," he said, pointing out that "outside the cities, you fly, in the city you drive."
The vehicle, which seats two, has retractable helicopter blades and is powered by a gasoline-fuelled engine.
It can fly for 500 kilometres or can drive for nearly four times that distance without refuelling, reaching a maximum speed of 160 kilometres per hour.
Buyers are already lining up: For now, the expected waiting time for delivery is around two years.
For take-off, "you can use the 10,000 strips available in Europe, and because you can drive, that's already enough", Dingemanse said, adding that "every German will have a small airport within 10 or 20 kilometres of his home".
But Pal-V's Liberty will not be a vehicle for everyman: Future drivers should expect to dish out between 10,000 and 20,000 euros (between R150,000 and R300,000) for pilot training, in addition to the anticipated 300,000-500,000-euro cost for the machine itself, Dingemanse said.
That is the same price range as a small helicopter, he said, stressing though that Pal-V's flying car is "easier, maintenance costs are much lower, (and) it's much more useful than a normal plane or helicopter".
Public transport on the fly
While also falling into the flying vehicle category, the modular Pop.Up Next is based on a radically different design.
The passenger capsule looks like a futuristic gondola lift, with a giant quadcopter attached to the roof.
The motorised base of the vehicle, which drives, and the upper part, which flies, can be detached and can move autonomously.
The Pop.Up Next is fully electric and was conceived for mass transport in an urban setting.
"This vehicle was not conceived to be sold to individuals, (but) as a shared means of transport," Mark Cousin, the project chief at Airbus, which developed the flying portion of Pop.Up Next.
Volkswagen's Italdesign unit, meanwhile, developed the passenger capsule, while the motorised underbelly of the vehicle is based on Audi technology.
"I don't know if you would use it every day," Cousin said, pointing out that the vehicle would be practical, for instance "going to the airport (at a price) hardly more expensive than a taxi", without needing to worry about traffic jams.
Airbus wants to launch the first urban trials by 2022 and is also investigating other uses, including transferring patients between hospitals and goods transport at night.
"The convergence today of certain technologies, especially in batteries and electric engines, is making it possible to develop this kind of vehicle -- something that was impossible five or 10 years ago," Cousin said.
Not everyone is convinced that flying cars will soon be darkening our skies.
"It's a beautiful idea," Ferdinand Dudenhoffer, who heads the Center for Automotive Research in Germany, told AFP.
But in light of the current air traffic density, "it is difficult to imagine that there will be lots of additional flying saucers" filling the skies, he said.

German court hands long jail sentences to far-right terrorists

GERMAN

DRESDEN - A German court sentenced seven men and one woman to four to 10 years in jail on Wednesday for founding a far-right terrorist group responsible for attempted murder and bomb attacks on refugee shelters and politicians in the former Communist East.
The individuals were members of the "Freital Group", named after their base in the state of Saxony, a bastion of support for the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD), which won the most votes there in a 24 September federal election.
After a year-long trial, Dresden's high court sentenced seven members of the group to between five and 10 years behind bars. The eighth got a youth sentence of four years, a spokeswoman said.
At least some of the defendants have appeared in court covering their faces with hoodies during their trial.
Prosecutors accused the group of being driven by xenophobic, radical right-wing views and a Nazi ideology, and of wanting to create a climate of fear that would drive out foreigners.
The charges against them included belonging to a terrorist organisation, attempted murder, setting off explosives, grievous bodily harm, attempted grievous bodily harm and damage to property.
In one of the attacks cited by prosecutors, the suspects detonated explosives next to windows at a refugee shelter, knowing there were people inside. One resident suffered cuts but prosecutors argued it was luck that no one was seriously hurt or even killed.
The suspects also set off explosives on a car belonging to a local politician from the radical Left party.
The prosecutors say the group targeted refugees, aid workers and leftist politicians and acquired in the Czech Republic large quantities of explosives that are illegal in Germany.
The defendants have confessed to their roles in the individual crimes but their lawyer had rejected the accusation of being part of a terrorist group and of attempted murder.
The group's attacks were part of a wave of right-wing violence against refugees triggered by the arrival of more than 1 million migrants in Germany since 2014.

MCP) members who last month petitioned the High Court against their party president Lazarus Chakwera have lost the case.

MALAWI

POLITICALF NEWS-MCP) members who last month petitioned the High Court against their party president Lazarus Chakwera have lost the case.
The four aggrieved members dubbed ‘Nkholokolo’ (troublemakers) are Stowell Gondwe, former regional chairperson for the North; Bauleni Mkweza, former regional chairperson for the Lakeshore; Angela Chunga and Malita Nasoni, former chairpersons for League of Malawi Women in Dowa East and Nsanje, respectively.
The aggrieved members obtained an exparte injunction restraining their president’s decision to reconstitute the party national executive committee (NEC) by creating new positions and moving existing position holders to other posts which the convention did not elect them to.
Gondwe in his sworn affidavits asked the Court to block the MCP NEC meeting describing it as unconstitutional.
But pronouncing judgement on Tuesday, Judge John Chirwa ruled that there was nothing wrong with the meeting.
The court further argued that the request by Gondwe was just an abuse of court systems and that he has lost the case with costs.
During the MCP national executive committee (NEC) resolved to suspend the party’s first vice president Richard Msowoya and Secretary General (SG) pending disciplinary action for causing “confusion” in the main opposition party.
The party suspended Msowoya and Kaliwo who stayed away from the meeting despite being invited to attend.
The MCP NEC also suspended former spokeswoman Jessie Kabwila, director of foreign affairs Tony Kandiero and Second Deputy Secretary General Chatonda Kaunda who were party to the “troublemakers” group.
The meeting at the MCP headquarters in Lilongwe was called by Chakwera to resolve internal wrangles.
During the same meeting, NEC appointed Eisenhower Mkaka as Secretary General replacing Kaliwo and Reverend Maurice Munthali as acting Deputy Publicity Secretary.
MCP deputy publicity secretary Ezekiel Ching’oma was endorsed as full party Publicity Secretary.
Under Article 14 of the MCP constitution, NEC has powers to suspend or dismiss a member if such members has committed a serious and persistent breach under the constitution provided that the procedure for such action should conform to the rules of natural justice that the accused be heard.
Mkaka has since expressed happiness over the outcome of the case.

Jappie Mhango, on Sunday emphasized on the need for communities to monitor and supervise development projects in their areas for quality and durable infrastructures.

The minister made the remarks in Thyolo during a ground breaking ceremony for two bridge projects at Nsuwazi and Livunzu rivers in traditional authorities Khwetemule and Mphuka respectively.
The minister said the first line of security for project materials should be provided by the community members themselves as the police cannot be at the project site all the time.

“Community Development Committee members can divide themselves where they will make sure that one or two people are at the site full time for monitoring and supervision of work as well as providing security,” he said.
Mhango said most of the times communities do not supervise projects which in turn provide loop way for some corrupt contractors to do substandard work and at times sell project materials like cement.
“We’ve warned the contractors already. If they are involved in any cheating, they will never work on any government projects, and they will be arrested. We don’t want any compromise on development projects,” warned Mhango.
Member of Parliament for Thyolo-Thava Constituency, Mary Navitcha, said she would be mobilizing people in the project areas to ensure that project materials are fully totally protected.

She said chiefs and communities should take responsibility in providing checks and balances to the projects.
She warned them against asking the contractors to sell them project materials like cement.
“We are the ones (villagers) who ask contractors to sell materials on the site. This will not be tolerated in these projects. We want everyone to participate in policing the projects,” said Navitcha.
Both bridge projects are financed by Roads Fund Administration to the tune of K262million.

Stormy Daniels over nondisclosure agreement

US

An adult film actress is suing President Donald Trump and wants a California judge to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement she signed days before the 2016 presidential election.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles, alleges the agreement is “null and void and of no consequence” because Trump didn’t personally sign it.
Stormy Daniels says she’s now free to talk about alleged Donald Trump affair
Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, has claimed she had sex with Trump once and then carried on a yearslong platonic relationship. She has, through a lawyer, denied the two had an affair.
