POLICE SEARCH CAPTURED FISHING VESSEL CAPE TOWN - The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries says a captured fishing vessel contravened the Marine Living Resources Act by entering South African waters without a valid permit. A police search of the vessel in Cape Town found no fish but there was fishing equipment Authorities say the crew of nine claim to have been travelling to the Democratic Republic of Congo where they are authorised to fish. Nine craft believed to be fishing illegally were spotted around Durban and Port Saint on Thursday night, but eight of them have disappeared.
