ANC denies reports of Zuma exit strategy
Senior ANC officials have dismissed rumours that an exit strategy is being put into motion for President Jacob Zuma.
JOHANNESBURG - The ANC has denied that an exit strategy is being planned for President Jacob Zuma.
The Sunday Times has reported that some ANC members want him removed as both party leader, and head of state, but that the move will only be made after the local government elections in August.
This is due to concerns that Zuma's removal now could affect election results in areas where he has a stronghold.
Senior party leaders are allegedly among those backing the plan.
They're also believed to be selling the idea to branches and provinces.
