Malawi to clash with Egypt in friendly match
The Flames of Malawi will play against the Pharaohs of Egypt in a strength testing match on 30th May, 2016, according to FIFA.A match calendar on FIFA’s official website is indicating that the two national teams will play each other on the 30th of May this year in a friendly match.Flames: To play Egypt.Meanwhile, both Football Association of Malawi (FAM) and Egypt Football Association are yet to confirm the date but the world football governing body’s calendar is indicating that the match will indeed take place. Egypt will use the match as a preparation for their last game in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tanzania on June 4th as they need only one point to officially qualify for the tournament in Gabon.In 2008, the Flames made international media headlines when they beat the Pharaohs of Egypt in an African Cup of Nations qualifier match at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.Chiukepo Msowoya scored the only goal of the match in the dying minutes of the second half to help Malawi sink the Pharaohs of Egypt.
