ANC has forgotten about Soweto: Malema
Soweto - EFF leader Julius Malema said the ANC failed to filled up a stadium in Port Elizabeth because South Africans said enough is enough.
“People are tired of the ANC and its corruption.
"The people of Port Elizabeth said to them we have protected you even when we saw that you are doing wrong things because we are loyal to history. We are loyal to the struggle but our children won’t eat history. It's time for change,' Malema said.
“The people of Soweto must tell the ANC the same by filling up Orlando Stadium on the 30th of April,” Malema told a community meeting in Zola, Soweto on Sunday.
The people of Zola used the opportunity to talk to the EFF leader about issues affecting their community.
Residents accused local ward councillors of corruption and complained about the prepaid water and electricity system.
“ANC ward councillors in Zola are mini-Zumas. They are corrupt as Jacob Zuma. We will inform parliament about all the issues raised because we believe the people of Soweto deserve better.
“We must restore the dignity and pride of the fearless people of Soweto,” Malema said.
The EFF is attending several public meetings in Soweto as preparation for the upcoming municipal elections and its manifesto launch set to be held at Orlando Stadium later this month.
