MORE THAN 100 RESCUED AFTER KENYA BUILDING
More than 100 rescued after Kenya building collapse
At least 121 people have been pulled alive from the rubble of a collapsed building in Kenya on Saturday morning.
The Red Cross put the number of rescued at 44 earlier in the day.
A seven-storey building collapsed in the Nairobi's densely populated Huruma area on Friday night.
Media reports were speculating that heavy rains and floods may have caused the structure to crumble but officials said that it was negligence and promised strong action against perpetrators.
Several other people have been evacuated from unsafe buildings close-by.
According to broadcaster Kenya Television Network (KTN), seven people had died in the collapse.
The Kenya Red Cross could not verify reports of deaths early on Saturday morning.
The organisation has set up a tracing desk in an effort to link concerned persons with missing family members.
